In 1824 Smith's illicit distilling practice began in The Glenlivet Valley of the Scottish Highlands.
Distilled in hand crafted small copper stills in bothies hidden from the law Smith created the foundations of the signature fruity floral Speyside style of Scotch that came to be loved and recognised the world over.
